I know exactly what she means. She said specifically what she meant. A lot of women do get surgery to look like Instagram models. She also is talking to those who have low self-esteem and self worth. If your self esteem is in tact and you want to remove those stretch marks then more power but all the extras is what I believe she's talking about. I think some people in the social media comments are taking it out of proportion. Erica was giving an encouraging message to all woman but if they still want to get things done, cool. However, my thing is, that person that implied that it doesn't make them insecure by getting things done and the other one saying that the reason they are getting something done is how she's loving herself :/ that's the whole point! They're changing themselves :( I used to think that way but then I had to be realistic, if I'm getting plastic surgery that's an implication that I don't fully love that part of myself. They need to be realistic and call things spade to spade 😧😅 Erica is right. For the people who are in defense, it's your body, you can still change it if you want, but her reasoning was for encouragement not control. People stay taking things out of proportion.

Just over 8% of men opt for cosmetic surgery in the UK and America. I'd say men do alter their appearance for women, but they do it in different ways. Many are taking steroids and hitting the gym. Those men are aware of the health repercussions anabolic steroid use can bring yet they continue to do it in a bid to be seen as more attractive. 🤔

Pausing to comment. I don't know EC from a can of paint but I like her message. She's not shaming anyone for changing their appearance, I took her comments as "Think before you act" advice. I hope she's saying to love yourself before surgery and if you still want a change then fine but do it to be your best self, not to impress or copy anyone else.

I’m naturally built like Erica, so I try not to judge my friends who get surgery even though I don’t think they need it. I can’t say what I would do in their shoes, of course I not get a BBL, my body is tight. But if it wasn’t I might change my tune. Thankful for my good genes, shut my mouth and keep it pushing.

People are too sensitive . She said nothing wrong. She's trying to uplift people by letting them know, that they're great the way they are. We're not meant to look the same. A lot of times , people do end doing surgery for the wrong reasons , and go to dodgy people to get work done, and end up botched. If you wanna go get cosmetic surgery, fine go . Just make sure it's for the right reasons and that you go to a reputable doctor

It doesn't matter what she said people are going to perceive it the way that they want regardless. She spoke her opinion if you agree or disagree, that's your opinion. I personally do not believe she was saying if you have surgery, you don't love yourself. I believe what she is saying is do what you do for you not based on others or in hopes of a level of attention from others. Know that God created you and loves you just the way you are.

Some women get plastic surgery all kinds of things done to there face, lips, nose, breast implants, tummy tuck, butt injections, botox. Skin bleaching to look lighter. And these are some of the beautifully women that don't need it, end up looking not what they wanted to change about themselves. Some of the women surgeries look are horribly done wrong it's a risk they take for beauty , even when they don't need it. And some get plastic surgery so much that they start to look like another person. So sad!

I feel like if you have the money then do you boo boo. I don't think it HAS to mean you don't love yourself. Some people just want more or to enhance. I love myself but I didn't love my smile so I just finished invisalign and am getting veneers. Doesn't mean I don't love myself. I think people just see it like you want to take something to the next level then they do w/e it takes to get there. I think the issue is when folks see something that isn't there. Vanity does not only show up in cosmetic surgery. If she wants to deal with the subject of vanity, it should be all inclusive (e.g. makeup, hair extensions, waist trainers, working out, etc.) that way she doesn’t come off as judgmental. Vanity is in the motivation behind the act, not the act itself.

This is subject I was discussing earlier before I knew she posted this. I feel that, a lot of women who gotten plastic surgery because of what they see music artists, movie actresses or Instagram models gotten. Later down the line, they’re gonna have major health complications or so many autoimmune disorders and rare cancers from it. It’s all vanity and she’s absolutely right.

I weighed 301 at one time. Point being, at 5'6", the excess skin game is real and I will get skin removal and a TT, arms, inner thigh, yup. I've always had curves and a BIG booty that I couldn't stand when I was younger and got teased for. So, no BBL needed. However, I believe if Queen Esther were around today she'd probably gotten some PS too. And hey, if it will help save an entire nation of people from death,...Erica is entitled to her opinion but at the end of the day, that's all it is.
